On Saturday September 15th, 2012 Rugby Linux Users Group held its annual Software Freedom Day event
to promote the benefits of software freedom to the local community.
Running from 12pm - 4pm at the Benn Partnership Centre (Railway Terrace, Rugby, CV21 3HR) the event featured
a variety of hands-on workshops, displays and presentations. Workshops include hardware hacking
with the Arduino, Scratch programming with the Raspberry Pi, and information on setting up a Code Club in your school.
A wide variety of free and open source software was available to try out, and visitors could take away free CDs
of free and open source software for Windows or Linux.
Local specialists working in the business and education sectors were also on hand throughout the afternoon to
offer guidance and answer any questions visitors may have had.
